The Alliance Against Poverty (AAP) has organized a Community Forum on Free Transit to develop a local campaign to make public transit free for everyone in Waterloo Region who lives in poverty. We would really like you to participate in our Forum.

The Forum will occur on Saturday, June 3rd from 2 to 4 pm in the fully-accessible downstairs hall of Historic St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. This church is located in downtown Kitchener at the corner of 137 Queen St. S. and Church St., just one block away from the Charles St. bus terminal. You enter the hall from Church St. via the large doors. The accessibility entrance is at the rear of the church off the parking lot, entering by the office door to the elevator. Free parking is available in the rear lot.

Please arrive by 1:30 pm for light refreshments and conversation. Then join a table of 12 participants. The forum will begin promptly at 2:00 pm with two brief presentations: Regan Brussé will give a user’s perspective on public transit, and Joe Mancini of the Working Center will advocate for making public transit free for everyone who lives in poverty. AAP member Richard Walsh will host and moderate the Forum.

Attendance is limited, so please confirm your attendance as soon as possible by "purchasing" your free ticket by May 16th at the latest.

Thank you very much for your anticipated interest.

Please note: This will be a video recorded session. So as to ensure full public availability, a recording of this session will be made available on the Alliance Against Poverty website following the event. Press and Media are welcome and may record this session as well. All attending are deemed to be agreeing to the above recordings and their publication.
